This statement tribal bracelet is made of "vegetable ivory" also known as Tagua or elephant tree. The scientific name of this palm is Phytelephas equatorialis, and only grows in the rainforest Amazon between Ecuador an Peru, South America.

It is known as the ivory plant because the resemblance with the animal ivory is so close that not even an expert can tell the difference.
